And In Other News: A New Bow!

I had some spare time before class this morning and since yesterday I bought myself meters of ribbons, I thought I'd get to work on a new bow. After a battle with knotted thread and some mischievous super glue, (I glued my fingers together again today. It happens every time.) I had a pretty sheer bow to show for it. I say sheer because the ribbons I bought are a tad see-through, which was exactly what I wanted. The sheer cream and dandelion yellow blended with a rich coffee brown color beautifully. And it only took fifteen minutes, hooray for fast crafting!

Tea Of The Day: White Peach Oolong

This tea is produced by Stash, it comes highly recommended as a porch sipping drink and I couldn't agree more! Not to sound like an advertisement but this tea is extremely tasty. If you have the time or if it's just very sunny on your side of the world today, try making it sun tea. There's no brewing involved and it ends up tasting so much better than it already does. That's the sun for you, making everything taste ten times better. (It also comes in a nifty little orange packet and I can't resist pretty little packaging) Happy Tea Time!

Cucumber Lemonade

4 Lemons

1 Medium-sized Cucumber

3 Cups of Water

1/4 Cup Brown Sugar

Instructions:
Peel your cucumber and chop it into large pieces. Place these pieces in your fancy shmancy juicer and press on! Take your cucumber juice and place it in a large pitcher. Set this aside. Squeeze your lemons and mix in your pitcher. In a small saucepan combine the brown sugar and one cup of lukewarm water, heat until the sugar dissolves. Pour this into your pitcher and add two ice-cold cups of water. Stir. Then add heaps more of ice and voila! Cucumber Lemonade.

Note: I don't like my cucumber lemonade sugary sweet so this recipe is with more cucumber flavor and isn't as sweet as others.

Champagne For Celebrating? More Like Raspberry White Tea!

I believe everything should be a celebration, and today? Well today I celebrate celebrations! Aren't they just wonderful? Crowds of people coming together for one purpose or even just a simple get-together of you and your cat, it's simply beautiful. And today I bought myself a packet of Raspberry White Tea for two reasons. The first being: It just looked like such a deliciously drinkable tea. And the second being: I'm celebrating my life! I should reward myself! And that I did. And you should too, I propose a fruity white or red tea (if you just so happen to be tea fanatic like myself) or if tea just isn't your thing, might I suggest a marvelously easy to make cucumber-lemon beverage? Go on, you deserve it.

Random Compliments

Am I the only one who absolutely adores compliments? No? I didn't think so. I've been working hard recently on making my own hair accessories. Not only because there's a giant hole in my beautiful new vintage-styled wallet (which my mother dear gave to me) but because things seem to end up so much more breathtaking after you've worked hard at making them with your own hands.

Which is why when I made a mint green bow for my hair, I was ecstatic when someone told me how adorable it was and not just anyone, my teacher! Well, I guess professor is the correct term but the word professor is so drab and boring and he's such a bubbly little character. And that was the first of many! So the next day, I tried to be a tad bit more daring, (well as daring as this little coward can be) I took a rainbow colored cloth flower, that was originally for scrapbooking, and turned it into a hair pin. Not too difficult, but a big nerve wracking in a way because it's so big and bright and eye-catching.

Nevertheless, I donned my bright new hair accessory and traipsed off to school where I didn't get a single compliment. Not one. But at the mall! Why, yes. Yes I did. On the elevator to be exact, on my way to buy more ribbons. Aren't compliments just lovely?
